Why is the NC Launcher being updated?
The introduction of the new NC Launcher is intended as the starting point where you will have a singular location to be able to install, update and launch all NCSOFT games from one application. Aion is now joining Lineage II and Blade & Soul as the latest game to be added to the new NC Launcher. Additional benefits will include access to the official website, forums and customer support as well as access to your NCSOFT Account.
Do I need to use the new NC Launcher?
You are currently not required to upgrade to the new NC Launcher, however we recommend installing the new NC Launcher to improve your Aion experience. The new NC Launcher will be required to play Aion beginning on 10/13/2020.
Do I need to download and reinstall the new NC Launcher if I installed it with Blade & Soul or Lineage II?
No, you do not need to download and reinstall the new NC launcher again if you already installed it with Blade & Soul or Lineage II. Your launcher will automatically update to support Aion when you launch it. After logging in, simply click on the Aion icon in the top right corner and the carousel view will switch to Aion. If you have Aion already installed on your PC, simply click the “Update” button and the new NC Launcher will be configured to launch Aion. If you do not have Aion installed on your PC, simply click the “Install Game” button to begin the game installation process.
When is the deadline for installing the new NC Launcher in order to play Aion?
Older versions of the NC Launcher will no longer be able to launch Aion on 10/13/2020.
What languages are supported by the new NC Launcher?
The new NC Launcher will support the following languages: English (US), English (UK), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil). However, Aion will continue to support only English within the game and on the web.
How do I select my language with the new NC Launcher?
To select your preferred language click the settings cog in the top right-hand corner and select “Launcher language” and choose your language option. This will not affect the web carousel language settings or the in-game language settings for Aion which will remain in English.
What games are available on the new NC Launcher?
Aion will be the third game available on the new NC Launcher. Blade & Soul and Lineage II are currently available to play on the new NC Launcher.
How do I decide which region to choose when I log in?
Aion and Lineage II will be available when you select either North America, South America or Oceania region. Blade & Soul is available when you select either Europe, North America, South America or Oceania region.
Do I need to reinstall Aion?
If you have Aion installed on your computer, the new NC Launcher installation process will automatically detect it and you will not be required to reinstall the game. If you have an Aion shortcut on your desktop (that has not been renamed or altered), that shortcut will be automatically updated to direct to the new NC Launcher and you may continue to use that to launch the game.
