Dev Blog: Welcome to the new Aion Website and More...

June 5, 2008

When there are so many exciting things happening, it is hard to pick one or two topics to blog about. Aion's development is progressing nicely, and will be showcased at a number of conventions in coming months, more staff will be brought on the team in the near future, and today marks the launch of the new US and European Aion websites. The former three topics are more appropriate for blogs from others on the team or future announcements; the latter is a topic I want to chat about.

I suppose I should spend a few moments making an introduction before I proceed. My name is Charles 'kieron' Dane and I am NC Austin's Community Relations Manager for Aion. While I am a relatively new join to the Aion project, I've been around the MMOG industry for a number of years and I am looking forward to building a strong relationship with the Aion community.

About now you are probably thinking, "Enough about you, tell me about the website already!" If so, my only response is, "As you wish."

Chances are you've clicked around the site, taken a look at the various sections and checked out some of the awesome stuff like screenshots, videos and wallpapers. Please keep in mind that we are far from done; future updates will include more guides and lore, a media section showcasing art, screenshots and videos from members of the Aion community, a more robust Fan Sites page, a contests page, a section for official and community events, and any other cool stuff we (or you!) can think of to put in. Want to share your thoughts about the site or make a suggestion? Send me an e-mail and let me know.

We will post news and updates on Aion such as game development, blogs and bios, developer interviews and beta test information as it is available to us. This will happen with more frequency as we get closer to Aion's release.

In closing, welcome to the new website! We hope you'll join the Aion community.

~kieron
